GPSG Alumni Engagement Fund
The GPSG Alumni Engagement Fund is a unique opportunity for GPSG-affiliated student groups to engage with the over 160,000 Duke alumni around the world. This program offers some financial assistance to bring back alumni for in-person and virtual student events. This fund exists to offset student group expenditures and encourage GPSG-affiliated student groups to establish connections with alumni from any Duke graduate, professional, or undergraduate program to support student members, give career and academic advice, and provide examples of successful career transitions following their time at Duke.
Guidelines for the GPSG Alumni Engagement Fund:
- Alumni speaker accommodations (travel/lodging): $300 per alumni speaker maximum, no more than $600 total alumni speaker accommodations per event
- Refreshments for event (food and nonalcoholic beverages only): no more than $100 total per event
- Please submit the application at least 3 weeks before the event
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis throughout the year by GPSG Executive Committee. Please be prepared to provide additional information if requested by the GPSG Director of Academic Affairs.

NOTE: If your student group is engaging an alum of The Graduate School (PhD, MS, AM, MFA, or MAT degrees), consider asking one of your members to interview the alum for a profile spotlight in The Graduate School’s Alumni Profiles series. It’s a great opportunity for a student to carve out 20 minutes of one-on-one time with an alum in a career of interest and begin building a portfolio of professional online communication.
